The name of this popular Ayurvedic herbal supplement means “three fruits”. In fact, three different types of berries are included in organic triphala: amlaki (Emblica officinalis), bibhitaki (Terminalia belerica), and haritaki (Terminalia chebula). Amlaki is famous for its high vitamin C content and has been called “nurse herb” in India for its ability to cure sicknesses. Bibhitaki and haritaki are considered rejuvenating. Together, they act as a strong digestive aid, especially in cases of constipation and gassiness. Because of the high vitamin C content of amlaki, triphala can also greatly boost the immune system, and may help the body to overcome colds and flus faster than normal.
The berries in this triphala are raised and processed organic in accordance with USDA rules, ensuring that no GMOs, artificial fillers, pesticides, or chemicals are included in the product. The powder can be mixed into warm or cold water for easy ingestion.
Just like with all home medical treatments, be sure to talk to your doctor before you start taking triphala!
