Café Altura was established in 1980 and is specialized in producing only original organic coffee for their customers. It all began when a group of organic enthusiasts gathered in Ojai, California to work and live on a 75-acre citrus farm. Eventually, the group and the founder Chris Shepherd connected with the Finca Irlanda farm in Chiapas, Mexico, that had been growing coffee using Biodynamic and organic methods for many, many years. Even to this day, the company keeps its founding principles which are sustainability, quality, care for the environment and land-maintaining workers, and support for family farms.
